1. Amsterdam, the Netherlands (130 lawyers)
I was surprised to see just how large our Amsterdam office is. I’ve been to Amsterdam once, alone. Now, I will be spending my semester studying abroad in Nijmegen, the Netherlands (only an hour train from the city). I’m excited that I will be able to visit Amsterdam shortly after my summer experience at DLA Piper, and I know there are several contacts at the DLA Piper Amsterdam office with whom I will be in touch. Of course, it’s number one on my list because I fully intend to check it off within the next few months.
2. Berlin, Germany (8 lawyers)
I love, love, love Germany. I’ve been there three times and cannot say enough about the German culture or German landscape. Castles. Oktoberfest. History. Audubon. It might just be my favorite continental European destination. In all my trips, I have yet to make it as far as Berlin. It is definitely my next German destination.
3. Prague, Czech Republic (25 lawyers)
Every American loves Prague. It was my brother’s favorite destination in his recent 17-country jaunt. This beautiful city is definitely starred on my list. I want to see what all the fuss is about!
4. Warsaw, Poland (57 lawyers)
I have such a fascination with Poland. People definitely think it’s weird. Maybe it’s the colorful and sad history, my fascination with the holocaust, or the country’s constant purgatory between old Eastern European ideals and Western innovation. Which one is it, anyway? I’m sure one of the 57 attorneys would be able to tell me.
